What is Ramadan
Ramadan is the ninth month of Islamic calendar. This year in Hijri 1437 it is expected to begin after the appearance of Ramadan moon which is expected on 7th of June 2016. Last Year, the first day of Ramadan was celebrated on 17-18 June 2015 (depending upon the location).
Beginning at age 12, all Muslims take part in the month-long dawn-to-sunset fast that is the hallmark of Ramadan. Eating or Drinking anything is strictly prohibited during daylight hours from Suhoor time to Iftar time, and the day’s abstinence is offset by a nightly meal known as iftar. Food is often shared with a poor family during Ramadan. It is a holy month dedicated to allah by muslims seeking forgiveness and prosperity.
After 30 day long Ramadan, Eid-al-Fitr is celebrated which is the major festival of Muslims. The date of Eid depends upon the observance of the moon also known as Eid-ka-Chand.

As per the official reports from gulfnews, Ramadan is expected to fall on 6th of June in UAE and other gulf counties.

However, Countries with different timezone will have another dates. In India, Pakistan & Bangladesh, Ramadan is celebrate a day after UAE.
